Here at Kerried Away the most popular request we hear from our brides is..."I just want to choose a bridesmaid dress my friends will wear again." As much fun as being "THE BRIDE" can be we know about the added stress having to ask people to spend money on you can bring. From the bridesmaid dress, to the showers, to the gifts, to the bachelorette shenanigans the dollar signs can quickly add up! The good news is that most of the time, the people you choose to share your big day with are aware of what you are asking of them. The money is not what is on their mind, but the fact that you value their friendship enough that you want them to forever be stuck in your wedding photos is much more important then their wallet. Being a bridesmaid is truly is an honor. I PROMISE!
Now, back to that request... hummmmm, "Something my friends can wear again...." I mean, none of your BFFs have EVER spent upwards of $200 on a dress they wore only once right??? What about that college formal dress, or that New Years Eve cocktail dress they just knew would make 20?? the best year ever? I know, I know these purchases where not demanded by you so who cares. The pressure of picking out a dress that your best friends HAVE to buy can be daunting now matter what the cost, but guess what...I have good news for all of you!!!

After much research (my job is awful, I know), this is a list I have put together to describe the majority of the trends seen on Spring 2012 runways everywhere! Fashion may have FINALLY given us the answers when it comes to choosing bridesmaid dresses your girls will be dying to "wear again". I think we should all thank the stylists on the set of Mad Men for bringing classic and ladylike back to the forefront of fashion. When shopping for a dress, bridesmaid or otherwise, we all want something that is beautiful, fun and fashionable. This spring we are sure to be able to carry styles we love into wedding decor everywhere:)
Valentino offered clean and simple silhouettes.
Think how amazing something this simple would be in a pretty sorbet shade, like the 'sparkling peach' seen below. Consider opening the neckline into a scoop of v-neck for girls with a larger bust.
Jason Wu offered Fifties-esque designs. This dress shows a color blocking story, and incorporates a lady like bow detail at the waist.
KAC's 'Lane' dress would be a great way to get this flirty look.
Try color blocking by choosing a 'Navy' bodice and the bold 'Penny Candy' for the skirt!
Take a short dress long! The sheer overlay adds length and a beautiful flow to any dress.
Add a silk organza overlay to KAC's 'Patricia' dress to achieve this look.
If you are brave enough to go for this fashion forward look we would recommend choosing a neutral color combination. Like this 'Sea Shell' and 'Cream'.
Think simple, fresh and girlie for all things spring! All you have to do is add your own style to a classic look. It is 100% possible to choose a dress your fantastic bridesmaids will all be ready to "wear again"!!
