2012 Trend: The Peplum

Most of you probably know that Peplums are indeed one of the big trends for 2012 but most aren't sure how or where to wear it.  A peplum, by definition, is a short overskirt or ruffle attached to a jacket, blouse, or dress and is really designed to show the curve of the hip and create the illusion of a smaller waist.

How Brides and Bridesmaid Can Wear It:
At Kerried Away the Kerri and Lane dresses are our two options of a peplum shown below.  Peplums are great for the bride or bridesmaids.  Brides might wear a cream or white peplum dress to the rehearsal dinner or going away outfit and have her bridesmaids wear a peplum as their dress for the wedding day.  If a bride just loves the look of a peplum she might even consider a peplum wedding dress.  The bridal gowns below are some of our personal favorites.

How To Wear It Everyday:
The simipliest way to wear a peplum is on a dress but there are other ways to incorporate it into your style as well.  Image from Polyvore below shows you just how many different options there are.  Pair the dresses with heels and bangles or a necklace and the tops with jeans or leggings.  And the skirts paired with a blouse create the perfect work outfit.
Hope this short guide helps you as you enjoy the search for your perfect peplum!
